By 2 pm, the procession was on its way to its ultimate destination.... the Castle Grounds....

After winding a route around the Castle building, Robin Hood, Maid Marion and Jack-in-the-Green appeared on the lawns....

It was then a case of singing Whitstable's very own May Day song...

.... and letting the dancing commence.....

... with all eleven sides in action at various times...

The whole scene was set amidst stalls and crowds... and against the backdrop of Whitstable's most famous landmark....
